We talk through what you want captured before the day even starts. Then we set up a dedicated interview space at your event and invite people over for a few honest, unscripted minutes on camera. Afterward, it's all cut together into a film you'll want to watch more than once.

Before you say I do
We sit down with the two of you, your bridal party, and your parents before the ceremony starts. This is where the quieter, more personal stuff comes out: nerves, excitement, a little advice, and what this day means to everyone standing closest to you.
Where it gets a little messy
Later in the night, once the dancing has started and everyone's a bit looser, we go back out for one more round of interviews. Often the funniest, most unfiltered moments of the whole day happen right here.

We started Something To Say Studios because we believe in human connection. Every great event is really about the people in the room. The highlights aren't the centrepieces or the stage lighting. They're the stories, the laughs, and the things people say to each other when the day is in full swing.
How it started
We got married last year.
It was a small wedding, and one of the things we loved most was getting real time with every single person there. When we talked to friends planning bigger weddings, we kept hearing the same thing: the day flew by, and they barely got to speak to half their guests.
That stuck with us. We went looking for something that captured what guests were actually thinking and feeling on the day, and we couldn't find it here. So we built it ourselves.
The Idea
Every guest has something to say. Most of it never gets said. So we made a way to capture it.
Why interviews
It doesn't feel like being filmed, it feels like a chat.
A highlight reel is lovely, but it's nothing like hearing it straight from the people who were there. We chose an interview style because it relaxes people. When people are comfortable, the best of them comes out.

A living guestbook.
Think of it as a living guestbook you'll actually want to look back on. Years from now, you'll still get to hear your grandmother's advice, your best friend's questionable joke, and everyone telling you what this day meant to them. That's a keepsake no photo can quite match.

The basics
What exactly is an interview film?
It's a film built entirely from the people at your event. We set up a relaxed interview space, invite guests over for a few minutes on camera, and ask them the questions that bring out the good stuff. Then we cut it all together into a film made of real stories, reactions and well wishes, in their own words.
Is this instead of a videographer?
Nope, it sits alongside one. A videographer captures what happened. We capture what everyone had to say about it. Most people find the two work beautifully together.
Do guests have to take part?
Never. It's completely optional, and anyone who'd rather stay off camera just carries on enjoying the party. That said, you'd be surprised how many "not me" guests end up wandering over once they see everyone else having fun.
What if someone is nervous on camera?
Making your guests feel comfortable is our job, and it's the whole reason we chose an interview style. It feels less like being filmed and more like having a chat with someone who's genuinely interested in what you have to say. There's no script to memorise, the questions are easy, and we keep it light. Most people forget the camera is there within about thirty seconds.
Can we suggest questions?
Absolutely. Before the day, we talk through what you'd love to capture, whether that's favourite memories, advice, stories about the guest of honour, or honest feedback on a product launch. We shape the questions around you.
How much space do you need?
Not much. A quiet corner near where your guests are gathering is perfect. We'll check in with your venue ahead of time so everything's sorted before we arrive.
Weddings and Events
Do you film the speeches?
We don't, and that's on purpose. Speeches are usually covered by your videographer, and our film is all about your guests. It's the stuff you'd otherwise never get to hear.
How long is the final film?
Usually somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the size and shape of your day.
Can we get short clips for social media?
Yes, you can add 10 short-form edits pulled from your film, ready for Instagram and TikTok.
Brand and Corporate
Can we use the footage in our marketing?
Yes. Full usage rights are included in the core package, so the content can keep working for your brand long after the event.
Do you cover multi-day conferences?
We do. Multi-day events, several sessions or larger activations get a bespoke quote. Just get in touch.
Do your guests sign a release?
Yes. Everyone who appears on camera signs a simple consent form, so you're covered to use the footage.

Where are you based?
We're based in Toronto and the GTA, but we're happy to travel. Events further afield come with an additional fee to cover travel costs, so get in touch and we'll work something out.
How long until we get our film?
Your film will be with you within 2 weeks of your event.
How do we secure our date?
A 50% non-refundable deposit holds your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before your event.
